thank heavens for my husband....

we were having a casual family chit-chat over brunch one sunday when i blurted out *actually joking* that i want a new phone for christmas from hubby...

and guess what happened?

the next day, he won in the raffle in their annual company xmas party...

a new LG ice cream KF350 phone....... and gave it to me! woo hoo!

and it's oh so delicious!

...and as if that wasn't enough, on Christmas Day, he bought me these shoes ---

and now, all i need to do is to cross it out from my wish list for 2009! *wink*

we had a wonderful christmas in HK, it was awfully exhausting but you can't let that feeling creep up on you on the most wonderful day of the year right?

my baby is now 10!

happy 10th birthday, gabe!

everyday brings changes... it used to be that i could look at you and see traces of the baby you once were.

now, i look at you and instead catch glimpses of the man you will become...where has the time gone?

everyday, i see you growing and maturing so quickly.

you are becoming a little man right before our very eyes...

i can't help but feel a little sad...

i wish you could always be our little baby boy!

{at this point, we are already laughing...imagining we are in the 'battle of the brainless'!}


ending: QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY pala ang sagot! nyahahhaa! {yup, tumutulong sila sa people tho' they're not heroes, notice the eye in queer eye, but they're 5 not 4 hehehe!}

new hair

i finally had my [long-overdued] trip to the salon last sunday.....

traditionally, i would treat myself for a rebond, color and cut (my only extravagance..... *oooopppss*, and shopping too! *blushing*) just before my birthday but since we were on vacation in the Philippines on my last bday, it was delayed... for two months, yup! (which explains all the pictures with me in ponytails! coz, everyday is a 'bad hair day'!)

hubby went with me to the salon and went back home just in time for the 'Pacquiao-Dela Hoya' boxing match...

this is so sad...

My heart bleeds for the families of those killed last Sunday night in the terrible road accident in Edmonton in Alberta, Canada, all four people killed were known to me one way or the other as we are all from the same small town of Cardona in Rizal, Philippines, two of whom (Renato 'tito Boyet' Huelgas and April Anne Buenaflor) were close relatives...

My thoughts and prayers are with you...

we see some 'kababayans' munching on their food and hanging-out as well... nicest thing about this place is that not only they allow you to lounge around at their comfy leather-covered sofas and chairs, you can really 'linger' as long as you want as if it's your own living room...

and then there's wi-fi...

happy december

it's officially december! i can imagine the feeling of being in the philippines at this time of the year... Christmas in the philippines start waaayy early, at the onset of the 'ber' months, you can already hear christmas carols being played, twinkling lights are on and you can really feel it in the air though it's still too hot and humid...i miss the puto bumbong, the simbang-gabi, the nightly carolings, the reunions and the never-ending christmas parties and exchange gifts... i miss chrismas back home...

christmas is not celebrated here {chinese people don't celebrate christmas}, it's more of a 'commercial' thing, the decorations at the malls in the city are lavish alright, but that is just about it, my son even have to go to school on that day, good thing hubby works for a HK company and so they have a day off on the 25th...

we usually go to HK to celebrate because the atmosphere there is much much festive and the people are really in a christmas 'mode' or something... i actually want it to become a yearly tradition for our family, but so far, we've managed to do it every other year... last year, we spent it here in Shenzhen, my son had a part in an English play at the school's Christmas program, and the stage parents that we are, clearly, we had to be there!

welcome to 'blogland'

why blog? i used to maintain one in friendster where i write about anything and everything everyday mundane things... and then it got 'blocked' (not my blog but the whole blogsite... there aren't actually lots of stories to tell or amazing adventures to write about... my life here in shenzhen is so ordinary to the point of being b-o-r-i-n-g sometimes (but i'm not complaining, i heart my life!)... everyday on school day, i set my alarm at 6:30 but when it goes off, i hit the snooze for 15mins... and then hit it again for another 5mins... and then i wake my son up, prepare breakfast for him and then sit with him at the table while he munch on his favorite peanut butter sandwich (which he eat almost every morning, and doesn't get tired of it!) after my son goes off to school and after i clear the table (sometimes!) i turn on the computer and go online - check my mail on gmail, check updates on my friendster account, and then PEP for a gossip fix... if it's not too cold or if i'm not too sleepy i try to drag myself downstairs to walk around for a bit or do some errands... coz that is the only time i can get my butt off the computer chair! hah!

we 'blog' for different reasons... for me it is a creative outlet of sorts, to express myself, it's like having a best friend whom you can tell everything to, it is the new form of journaling or keeping a diary... i don't keep a diary, not anymore, but i do write, i looovee writing... i write just about anything, you know, everyday 'stuff'...

so, why do i blog? my reason is simple, i don't ever want to forget, things are fleeting and moments are just moments, you can never bring it back once it's over! i want to remember, period!
